Promotion Policy: VI to VIII

Promotion will be granted on the basis of the whole year performance of the student under the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation. CCE is a system of evaluation that covers all aspects of students’ development. It is a process to provide holistic profile of the learner through regular assessments of both scholastic and co-scholastic areas.

Scholastic Areas:

It covers formative and summative assessments. Each Term will have two formative and one summative assessment

Co-Scholastic Areas:

The desirable behaviour related to learner’s life skill, attitudes, interests, values, co-curricular activities and physical health are covered by co-scholastic domain.
Assessment will be both formative and summative. The entire session has been divided into two terms. The assessment will be done as under:

* THE FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT WILL BE ON THE BASIS OF WEEKLY TESTS ASSIGNMENTS, CLASS WORK, HOME WORK, PRACTICALS, PROJECTS, ORAL TESTING QUIZZES, EXPERIMENTS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES IN THE CLASS.

* SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT WILL BE CARRIED OUT AT THE END OF THE TERM. IT WILL BE A WRITTEN EXAM TO END THE TERM.

Operational Modalities

The students’ performance will be assessed using conventional method of numerical marking in English, Hindi, Maths, Science, Social Science, Computer and third language. Each assessment will be indicated in grades.

MINIMUM QUALIFYING GRADE IN ALL SUBJECTS UNDER SCHOLASTIC DOMAIN IS D. STUDENTS OBTAINING MINIMUM D GRADE IN ALL SUBJECTS WILL BE AWARDED A QUALIFYING CERTIFICATE.
STUDENTS OBTAINING THE QUALIFYING CERTIFICATE SHALL BE ELIGIBLE FOR PROMOTION TO THE NEXT CLASS.
THE STUDENTS WHO SECURE E1 OR E2 IN ANY SUBJECTS WILL HAVE TO QUALIFY THE SUBSEQUENT EXAM BY RE-APPEARING IN THE PARTICULAR SUBJECT TILL THEY GET THE MINIMUM PASSING GRADE.
